Whew, finally got some commissions in and managed to finish a multipart one already! I only got to show the Goblin Tales Mossling spring edition that I painted for a dear friend of mine. Without further ado, onto some pictures. The FYI will come at the end! I poured a lot of work into this little critter, in fact I devoted most of yesterday to painting him. My friend asked for a little lady bug on his face, which I loved. So of course I had to make it look like the lady bug would travel along the face haha.
Now for the FYI: With January over and it officially being February for a few days, I raised my price points by €5 each for basic work. It's been over a year since I increased my prices last and I feel my added experience and skill warrants a higher price. This is only for new commissions, not ones where I've already given a quote. Those I will honor of course. That is all for now, until next time!

Finally got around to finishing up my last two commissions, and I did some website maintenance as well. I updated my logo (minimal changes) and redid every page's banner with new images! The two dolls I worked on are a DikaDoll Mudan who only got some elf ears from me, and another Doll Family-A Luca that got tattoos all over! Without further ado, onto some pictures! First up is the DikaDoll Mudan with a face up from another artist, and an elf ear addition by me. The client wanted her to have ears similar to Doll Leaves Theresa, so I did my best to mimic them, just with more detail. I then blushed them to match! And here we have the Doll Family-A Luca I painted for a client. They wanted me to base her paint job on cherry blossom stained glass, so that was a fun challenge! She turned out lovely in my opinion and I barely had to make any corrections.
Anyway, I'm out of commissions currently, so now is the time to contact me if you want a face up from me still at my current pricing. Until next time! Already a new blog post? I'm just as surprised as you are! As a New Year's resolution I want to upkeep this section of my website better, so I don't post so much new work in a single post. Let's see how long I can keep up with it, haha! I finished up the Impldoll Baby Colby yesterday and got the pictures approved last night, so I can share them now here. She's a cute little girl in pink skin and is absolutely adorable. I'm lucky that pet dolls aren't really my thing, so I'm safe from wanting one. But anyway, onto some pictures! Here she is! I kept her color scheme to pinks and a little bit of magenta/purples as well just to make her details pop. I painted scales along her face as I felt it was too bland otherwise. She also has a subtle shimmer going on along her whole body.
My little light box broke over the holidays (wouldn't turn on and kept short circuiting my laptop when I plugged it in to light it up), but fortunately my dad misunderstood my christmas wish and bought me a new one, that's like 6 times as big and I have no clue where to put it so I don't have to keep disassembling it. I'm still learning to set my camera for it, these pictures were the first ones I took in it! I'm still open for commission! Only January left with my current pricing, and then February 1st, 2019 comes the price increase. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, until next time! I was a busy bee these past few days. I managed to paint and finish up a commission that included a body blush and 5 face plates! The doll is a Goblin Tales Mossling in dark tan and orange. I still have more to work on for the client, like a pair of wings I sculpted and cast, but that is my goal for today. Without further ado, onto some pictures! Whew! There we go, all 5 faceplates plus the body. The body was all dark tan other than the lower arm pieces, so I had to paint the belly leaf and the inside of the ears lighter so I could match it to the faceplates. He's a little Autumn spirit, and I'm so glad I got to work on one of these cuties.
That is all from me for now, hopefully I'll have more work to show tomorrow! I hope all the USA peeps had a great Thanksgiving and Black Friday! I was a busy bee and painted the dyed Dollzone Scorpio. I've taken a few days off from work to spend time with my mom and stepdad as they flew in on Tuesday! It's been fun, but boy am I beat from all the sightseeing we've been doing! Anyway, onto some pictures of the Scorpio! I did not do the dyeing this time (hence why it doesn't look terrible!), but MisMantis did it before she sent it to me to paint for the client. The concept is based on Sedona rock formations with succulents all along the back.
It was an interesting challenge to paint as the Scorpio is dyed dark tan. No matter what I tried, the orange pastels simply didn't want to show up after sealing, so I went darker instead. The succulent rosettes were fun to do, and I covered everything with interference green shimmer powder, so she sparkles nicely! Now for the FYI: I'm re-opening commissions for limited slots! I have one new commission on me so far, but I have room for more! With my work schedule I can't take on as much as I used to and keep a reasonable turn around time... So for commissions, no more than 2 parts per slot, like 2 heads, or a head and a body, etc. I'm hoping I can keep on top of them better this time! I haven't been officially open for commissions in so long, but I crave fresh ideas to realize! Oh! Another thing to mention, I was sent some owner pictures! Be sure to hop into the Owner Gallery to see! I absolutely love owner pictures, and am sad at how few I get... (hint hint send me owner pictures). That's all from me for now, until next time! I was a busy busy bee these past few weekends and managed to complete two huge multipart commissions! There's so much to show I'm going to have to put things under the cut.
I completed the Nefer Kane Mystery Elf, Nefer Kane Sarina, Doll Chateau Snowman, and the Resinsoul Nian! I still have a lot more to work on of course, but I'm hoping to do that today despite the rain... Anyway, pictures under the cut! I've been a busy bee this weekend so far! I finished up a Nefer Kane Mystery Elf in normal skin (such a delicate little thing) and started on a Nefer Kane Sarina in white skin. They are definitely interesting sculpts, though personally I prefer to admire them in others collections. They are not for me. Without further ado, onto some pictures! Here are the Nefer Kane dolls I've been working on. I haven't taken a picture yet of the Sarina's body, and her face up just needs painted eyelashes, gloss, and applied eyelashes still and she's done too. Please excuse the bad cell phone pictures. I don't like lugging out the DSLR for simple WIP shots. I also took a picture of the Mystery Elf's eyes, because they are so small. They were a pain to get into her head because the putty kept sticking to my finger and not the resin. I won in the end! Here you can also see the dandelion better on her cheek. I have relatively small hands given the fact that I'm only 155cm (5'1") tall, the eyes are only 6mm! Yes, I did measure them because I was curious. They are little galaxy acrylic eyes.
Tomorrow it's back to work for me, but I have Wednesday off so maybe I can crank out more work! I've been struggling a bit catching up with my face up work due to working so much at my day job (40+ hours a week on average, plus an hour commute to and from daily). I miss working on dolls consistently, but migraines have been halting my work on the weekends. Sigh... Anyway, this is all from me for now, until next time! I finally finished up the Resinsoul Sui, now all that's left from that client is a Resinsoul Nian. The Sui left my whole desk purple, and so many cotton balls gave their life for his blushing! He was truly a labor of love. I could have saved myself a lot of trouble by just learning to use my airbrush, but I'd rather not experiment on client dolls... But anyway, onto some pictures! First up, his head. He's in white skin and his color scheme is purple and black. He actually currently has a silver wig, but I think a deep violet or black would be amazing on him too! I fought with the eyes because they are too big (Resinsoul included them). I haven't done scales like this in a while, but they look good on him! Next up is his body blush. He has muscles on his muscles. This boy is ripped. I extended the scales from the tail onto his back and blushed his body with purples again to match his overall theme. He also got restrung and sueded too! And to finish up showing his pictures, here's the rest of his fantasy parts in detail. Clawed hands, lizard feet, wings, and his tail. I didn't take a picture of the other side of his tail, but it's just a light violet, nothing too special. You can see it in one of the body blush pictures though!
I'm still very much closed for new commissions. I don't see myself re-opening until late September at the earliest... And I'll have to cut down on how many parts I accept per slot. With working 10 hour days my free time is very small and restricted to weekends only. I feel bad making my clients wait so long on face ups and such. For this client I have 1 more doll to work on, who needs a face up, body blush, restringing and sueding, fantasy parts blush, basically an all over job. Then for another client I have another 3 dolls to work on, and from a friend I have a smol Doll Family-A Luca dear to paint. Thank you guys for being so patient with me!! That's all from me for now, until next time! It's been a while since I've thrown an update up here. Work has been good, though it eats up my weekdays like no tomorrow. So I've had to cram my commissions into the weekend because I just can't logistically work on them during the weekdays (I work 9-10 hour days and commute for 2 hours every day). Anyway, that hasn't stopped me from making progress on my large commission list! The main doll I've been working on is the Resinsoul Sui. His colors are black and purple. His wings are huge, they are the length of my lower arm. Since I'm a herp derp and don't know how to use an airbrush, I've been blushing everything by hand with pastels. Let me show what I've done on him so far! Here's everything I've done on him so far. His head and fantasy parts are all done, all that's left now is the body. I got the first layer on the body almost done, and then I'll seal and do a second layer to make the colors pop more. Please excuse the crappy quality pictures, they were taken with my cell phone.
I've also restrung and sueded him, as well as fixed a broken finger. He arrived to me with a finger broken off and I decided to fix it good. I drilled a hole into the hand and the finger, inserted a metal bar coated in superglue, filled in the minor gaps with epoxy and once it was all cured I sanded it smooth. The first two times I tried to fix the finger with just super glue or epoxy it wouldn't hold. That is all for now, until next time! Now that I've been back over a week from my vacation trip to Turkey with my dad, his girlfriend, and my wife, I can finally get back to painting dolls! Before I left I painted my wife's Aimerai QT Melodie in white skin, and when I got back I repainted my own Soom FC Chrom in bronze and I gave my April Story Betty on the NB-SD16 body a tattoo on the left arm and manicure. Without further ado, onto some pictures! First up is my wife's Aimerai QT Melodie. This thing was truly a pain in the butt to work on... She does not like to stand or pose very well, and keeps flipping her wings around. And then my wife gave me a difficult concept to work with... carousel horse. I did my best, and she turned out cute, but boy am I glad she's done! I even gave her little earrings, and a mohair mane and tail! Here's my Soom FC Chrom in bronze with his new face up. I really like the blushing a lot more this time around. His last face up wasn't bad, but he'd chipped the eyebrows by face-planting too often (old SG Soom body, it really can't pose very well...) and he got a new wig. Here's the comparison to his last face up compared to his current one. He fought me bitterly on his eyebrows and eyelashes, but I persevered and won the war in the end... It took me like an hour of painting and redoing the eyebrows over and over. I even had to take a break because he was being that stubborn about them! I really need to get better white paint... In the Owner Gallery is a picture of him with his wig and body. Poor thing is unevenly yellowed at this point, but I still love him, uneven coloring and all! And now, last but not least, are the hands and the left arm of my April Story NB-SD16 girl body. I slaved over that tattoo for at least 6-7 hours, but probably longer. I did it in stages over the course of two days. Now I just need to tattoo her right arm too, but all in due time. This is the first full sleeve tattoo I've ever done and the first full color one to boot. I'm debating adding a fake ring onto her hand as she's a married character, but I don't have her husband so it feels moot to do it. Maybe this is when they were still dating and her college days. Yeah, I'll go with that! Here she is, and she definitely needs something on her other arm too, and maybe some cute little tattoos on her hips! I may also swap out her eyelashes for nicer blue ones that I got in from Taobao. I think that would look nice on her!
Anyway, that's all for now, I'm still open for commission and won't be raising my prices until summer so now is as good of a time as any to message me! Until next time! I was a busy bee the last week and finished up a gift for my sister, and a commission from a dear friend of mine. For my sister I worked on a Doll Family-A Mon and for my friend I painted their PinkVetch Voador flying pig and his mask. Without further ado, onto some pictures! Here's the Doll Family-A Mon in normal pink skin. I went with a stylized approach for him as his sculpting is very stylized. My sister asked me to write "Affe" (German word for Monkey) on his belly as a joke, but I did it anyway. I'll be handing him over to her in the next couple of days as he's her first and only BJD! Then here is my friend's PinkVetch Voador flying pig with mask in white skin. I easily spent over 4 hours in one sitting painting him and I wasn't done! I was given artist choice, so I picked some colors I know my friend likes and went with that. I actually really love how he turned out. I can't wait to see some owner pictures!
Also, I still have plenty of slots open. I decided to put off raising my prices for now. So if you have a head rolling around at home in need of a face up and like my style, please don't hesitate to message me! Until next time! Since I was out of commissions this past week, I decided to blush the torso of my LoongSoul 69cm small bust body in normal pink skin. I have one more commission on me that I just recently received, so once it stops snowing I'll be working on that head too. It's a Luts SDF 2016 Summer Event head that I recently sold to a friend.
Anyway, onto some pictures! I'll put them under the cat as they are NSFW in nature due to the nudity! I've been (figuratively) sitting on new work since the weekend, but didn't get to posting a blog 'til now. I managed to finish up a face up, body blush, and fantasy parts blush on a LoongSoul White Tiger Ye in white skin. I was given artist choice to revamp the little guy. So I did a Lisa Frank inspired leopard boy. I'll go over the FYI after the pictures. Now let's begin! For some reason, LoongSoul didn't embed the magnets for the ears in the resin, so they have to be taped on. The spots all shimmer in their respective colors, and I brushed shimmer powders all over the fantasy parts too. He's radiant to say the least! I can't wait to see what the owner will do with him. Here's a full body shot of him with a (terrible) mohair wig I made myself on him.
Anyway, now for the FYI: It's no secret that I'm moving to Austria at the end of this month (June 26th to be exact). I'm shipping all my face up supplies and other items per shipping container. That sadly means that I won't be able to work on any dolls for about 2 months, because the time is 6-8 weeks. I'm only taking one doll with me to have while I get settled, the rest of them are going in the shipping container. I'll need to revamp some things on the site for that then, which I'll do once I'm in Austria. I might even change the layout of the website! I've been debating it a while now since I haven't updated the site layout in years! Anyway, that's all from me for now, until next time! I finished documenting the rest of the Ringdoll Teen Melody and her DikaDoll 1/3 Jointed Girl Hands in white skin. I also reached a huge milestone for myself. I got to 300 completed face ups! The Impldoll Isaac from the last post was #299, so I redid my Resinsoul Ai named Zephyra as #300, because it's tradition. Without further ado, onto some pictures! First up is the Ringdoll Teen Girl body in normal skin and the DikaDoll 1/3 Jointed Girl hands that go with her. She's rosier in person, but my camera always washes out the details. I really should invest in a light box, but that'll have to wait until I'm in Austria. I'm getting all jittery at this point for the big move! I also snapped a picture of the Ringdoll Teen Melody with her wig on to show to the client. They are happy with the work! Now to work on the rest of their commissions! I still got a Loongsoul White Tiger Ye and another head to work on for them. Now onto the big #300! As a tradition I always redo my Resinsoul Ai when I reach a new 100th. She was originally my first face up, then my 100th, 200th, and now 300th! I like to always redo her in the same theme to see how I've improved in 99 face ups. It's kind of silly to always redo her, but I've stuck with it! Anyway onto the pictures! She's a wind/ice themed character, and I have a love for painting swirls. She's been in my collection the longest, I received her in June of 2011. I've hybrided her on a DF-A 60cm girl body with modded thighs to accommodate the Soom FC Beryl hooves. I really like how she turned out this time! The first face up I had some help with on the eyebrows and eyelashes because I was getting a private face up workshop from a friend. The 100th face up I waaaay over blushed, and I was still using watercolor pencils. The 200th face up is very pale but nicely done. My favorite is definitely the 300th now, just the right amount of blushing, blending, and fantasy aspects. That's it for now! Still got more stuff to work on. I think I'm staying closed with my face up shop until after I move to Austria. It's crunch time now and I can't take on anymore and hope to get them done in time...
Anyway, until next time! I had a productive weekend and finished a face up and body blush on a Lillycat Chibbi-Lana in peachy normal skin. The client had her sent directly to me from the company. I was asked to paint her with freckles all over her face and body. I had a lot of fun! Without further ado, onto some pictures! It's sad how my pictures never give justice to my work. Might be because I don't actually have a lightbox and just use a cloth draped over my desk and my lamp. At least I do have a daylight bulb in my desk lamp. But I digress. I loved painting the little teeth on her, she's quite small! Work that was done:
The client also sent me her wig to color match her eyebrows and eyelashes to it. She reminds me a lot of my doll Melody, my Doll Chateau Snow Nymph, but fairy sized! My wife was the one to point that out, but I can definitely see it!
Until next time! |
